“Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood,” the longest-running program on public television, premieres in America. [Family Communications, Inc.; The Neighborhood Archive]
Stop being unhappy with youeself. You are perfect in your own way. Stop wishing you looked like someone else or wishing people liked you as much as they like someone else Stop trying to get attention from those who hurt you. Stop hating your body, your face, your personality, your quirks. Embrace them instead. Without those things you wouldn’t be you. And why would you want to be anyone else? Be confident with who you are. Smile. Don’t let your happiness depend on others anymore. I am happy because I am who I am. I love my flaws. I love my imperfections. They make me, me. And “me” is pretty amazing.

“Pausing to listen to an airplane in the sky, stooping to watch a ladybug on a plant, sitting on a rock to watch the waves crash over the quayside - children have their own agendas and timescales. As they find out more about their world and their place in it, they work hard not to let adults hurry them. We need to hear their voices.” ~Cathy Nutbrown
